After graduating from the Le Cordon Bleu program at the California School of Culinary Arts, Chef Erick Simmons worked in some of the most demanding kitchens in the country. Gaining experience at the Water Grill in downtown LA, Erick then moved to Las Vegas and rose to Sous Chef at Bradley Ogden in Caesar’s Palace and RM Seafood at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Erick earned his first Executive Chef position at mk, the popular fine dining restaurant created by Michael Kornick in Chicago. While living there, Erick was named one of the top 30 under 30 chef’s to watch in the country.
Moving back home to Southern California, Erick has led kitchens at the Hungry Cat in Santa Barbara, Walt’s Wharf in Seal Beach, and was the founding chef of Restauration in Long Beach.
Erick partnered with his Dad, Jerry, to create Out West Kitchen & Catering. It is an opportunity for Erick to use his farm-to-table philosophy and locally sourced food to create memorable food in his hometown and surrounding communities.
Erick also teaches Culinary Skills and Principles at Long Beach City College.
